Some drawings of new supermini Kia Rio (2011)
It never rains, it pours in Kiaworld, it seems. Not long once showing us the new Kia Picanto town automotive last week and therefore the KV7 concept automotive at this week's 2011 Detroit auto show, nowadays Kia publishes these 1st style sketches of the new Rio.
It's Kia's supermini to compete with the likes of the Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Corsa and VW Polo.
And once a string of highly accomplished, though slightly samey, designs, Kia is saying that the new 2011 Rio's style represents 'the next massive step' in its styling language.
New Kia Rio: the facts
The new Rio visible in these style sketches is longer, lower and wider than the outgoing mini.
Kia says it's 'designed to inject emotional attractiveness into the B-segment, targeting progressive, energetic shoppers who need a stand-out style.'
The Koreans have issued a sketch of the inside, promising 'a feeling of quality generally related to larger, costlier models.'
When can we have a tendency to see the new Rio?
At the 2011 Geneva motor show on one March 2011. that is when we'll recognize obviously if Kia's downsizing specialist very matches the promise of those slick early style sketches.
The current Rio has been Kia's third best-selling vehicle in overseas markets; it shifted quite 205,000 Rios in 2010.
